Meet our team
Dr. Bellak’s bio:
Jason Bellak, MD, FAAAAI, FACAAI, FACP dual board-certified in pediatric and adult allergy and immunology as well as internal medicine. He knows what allergy sufferers face having eczema, allergies, and asthma himself. He is passionate about teaching and empowering his patients to live without health limitations. Dr. Bellak had the privilege of assuming ownership of the Allergy and Asthma Center in the Summer of 2023. The Allergy and Asthma Center was founded by Dr. Joel Katz where he cared for patients in the Southern Nevada region for over 20 years.
Dr. Bellak is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Bellak graduated with honors from UCLA before returning to Reno, NV for medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. After medical school, Dr. Bellak completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic. At the University of Wisconsin, he completed allergy, asthma, and immunology training. Dr. Bellak has participated in multiple laboratory and clinical research studies and has been invited to present his research at national meetings. Dr. Bellak is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI), and American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI). To be nominated to be a fellow of these organizations, Dr. Bellak demonstrated the highest standards of care and continuing education. He is the Nevada state representative for the ACAAI House of Delegates. Delegates play a pivotal role in shaping how the ACAAI supports patients with allergies, asthma, and immune system disorders and the allergists who care for those patients.
Dr. Bellak and his wife, Jennifer, have three children. Dr. Bellak and Jennifer do not let their asthma and allergies prevent them from enjoying an active lifestyle. Together, they completed the Chicago Marathon and multiple half marathons. They also enjoy snowboarding/skiing, hiking, biking, and any other activity that provide them an opportunity to spend time outdoors with family and friends.
Courtney Smith, PA-C bio:
Courtney is a board-certified physician assistant who received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Touro University Nevada. She is passionate about delivering patient-centered care and building strong relationships with her patients to best address all of their allergy and asthma needs.
She was born and raised in southeast Michigan and completed her undergraduate education at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) where she received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience.
Courtney is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners. She is also a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, CrossFit, board games, nature documentaries, and watching hockey and football.
