A New Era of Prevention: Join the STOP-HAE Clinical Trial for Advanced HAE Care
Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) is a rare, genetic condition that causes painful, unpredictable, and potentially life-threatening attacks of severe swelling in the abdomen, face, extremities, and airway. For patients managing Type I and Type II HAE, the challenge lies not only in controlling attacks but in managing the burden of frequent treatment.
Here at the Allergy & Asthma Center of Las Vegas, we are excited to be a clinical research site for the Phase 3 HAE study, evaluating a promising new investigational medication: ADX-324.
What Makes the HAE Trial Different?
The investigational drug, ADX-324, is an siRNA (small interfering RNA) therapy designed to target a protein called prekallikrein (PKK). PKK plays a critical role in triggering HAE attacks by initiating the process that causes fluid to leak from blood vessels.
The key patient benefit being explored with this new approach is the potential for significantly less frequent dosing. While currently approved HAE preventatives often require daily pills or injections every few weeks, ADX-324 is being studied to see if it can be administered as a simple injection once every three or even six months. This could be truly life-changing, drastically reducing the treatment burden for patients.
Eligibility and What to Expect
The HAE study is looking for adults (18+) with a documented diagnosis of HAE Type I or II who meet specific criteria, including having experienced a certain number of HAE attacks recently.
Participation means:
- Access to Innovative Care: Receiving a cutting-edge therapy not yet available to the public.
- Expert Monitoring: Receiving specialized care, study drug, and all related procedures at no cost.
- Contributing to Research: Helping to advance treatment options for the HAE community worldwide.
If you are struggling with unpredictable HAE attacks and are seeking a long-term preventive treatment with a greatly reduced dosing schedule, this trial could be a significant step toward a more predictable life.
