Introduction to Our Clinical Research:

Access to cutting-edge treatments shouldn’t require leaving home. At the Allergy & Asthma Center of Las Vegas, we are committed to bringing the latest advancements in allergy, asthma, and immunology directly to our community through FDA-regulated clinical trials. Clinical trials are carefully designed research studies that evaluate new medications, biologics, or treatment approaches to ensure they are safe and effective. These studies are an essential part of medical innovation and often give patients early access to promising therapies long before they become widely available. For many individuals, this means access to next-generation options typically found only at major academic centers—without the burden of traveling out of state.

Our clinical research program is led by Jason M. Bellak, MD, a dual-board-certified allergist-immunologist and internal medicine physician with more than 20 years of clinical experience. Dr. Bellak trained at the Mayo Clinic and the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics, where he completed fellowship in Allergy & Clinical Immunology and conducted NIH-funded research. He has serves as the Principal Investigator for pharmaceutical studies, including hereditary angioedema, asthma, urticaria, eosinophilic diseases, and immunologic therapies.

As Medical Director for Clinical Research at the Allergy & Asthma Center, Dr. Bellak oversees all trial activity with a focus on safety, scientific rigor, and patient-centered care. Our clinic uses FDA-compliant processes, a highly trained research team, and close physician oversight to ensure each participant receives exceptional support throughout the study.

By offering clinical trials right here in Las Vegas, we allow patients to benefit from tomorrow’s therapies today—close to home, close to family, and in the same trusted environment where they already receive care. Our goal is to expand treatment options, advance medical knowledge, and empower patients with access to innovative therapies that can meaningfully improve their health and quality of life.

Current Trial: STOP-HAE

The STOP-HAE clinical trial is evaluating ADX-324 for adults with HAE Type I or II. By participating, you’ll contribute to HAE advancements while receiving close monitoring from our expert team.

  • What is ADX-324? A small interfering RNA (siRNA) that blocks PKK production, preventing attacks without altering DNA.

Study Phases:

  • Screening (4-8 weeks): Medical history review, eDiary setup for tracking attacks, vital signs, ECG, blood/urine tests.

  • Treatment (25 weeks): Randomized to ADX-324 (high/low dose) or placebo; subcutaneous injections; regular check-ins (clinic or home visits possible).
  • Optional Extension (up to 3 years): Open-label ADX-324 for all eligible participants.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age 18+
  • Diagnosed with HAE Type I or II
  • Willing to pause preventive medications
  • Access to effective acute therapy
  • No interfering medical conditions

  • Ability to use an eDiary app
  • (Full assessment by our study doctor; this is not exhaustive.)

What to Expect: No cost for study procedures; possible reimbursement for travel/rescue meds. Risks discussed upfront; continue rescue medications as needed.

Why Participate? Gain insights into managing your HAE, access potential new treatments, and help shape future care.
